Making Space grants program returns for another year

16 Aug 2021

Council and Arts Merri-bek are excited to announce that the Brunswick Design District’s Making Space program will return for another year thanks to funding from Creative Victoria’s Creative Neighbourhood Partnership Pilot Program, Merri-bek City Council and RMIT as part of the Brunswick Design District.

Making Space is a residency program that offers creatives a temporary space in Brunswick or Coburg and a small stipend to help them develop a project or idea.

Acting Major Mark Riley said “Moreland has a strong creative community that is under pressure after a difficult two years."

"We want to support our creative industries and start to bring them back into the unique and vibrant venues that make our city special.”

This year’s program will see more residencies and many exciting venues across Brunswick and Coburg opening their doors.

Applications open in early September.

Brunswick Design District is a partnership between Creative Victoria, RMIT University and Merri-bek City Council.
