Public Notice: Vote to name our new park

We are proposing to name the new park at 14 Frith St, Brunswick (shown outlined in the map below).

We approved five names to be included in a voting poll.

  • Foundry Park - after the former steel foundry onsite located on the Lobb St corner
  • Yubup Park - meaning ‘Parrakeet’ in Woi-wurrung language
  • Fletcher Jones Park - after the former clothing factory onsite owned by FJ and staff
  • Franco Cozzo Park - after a locally famous migrant and Brunswick store
  • Fabbrica Park - meaning factory in Italian

You are invited to vote on a name for this project by 5pm Tuesday 16 April 2024

How to vote

Submit your vote online, via email, or in writing. You must include your name, address and contact details.

Only 1 vote per household.

List all 5 names and place a number preference next to each one (1-5). 1 being your most preferred, 5 being your least preferred.

Vote by email: property@merri-bek.vic.gov.au quoting NAM/2022/3 in subject line. 

Vote by post: Attention: Liz McDonald, Property Officer at Merri-bek City Council, Locked Bag 10, Brunswick 3056 or deliver to the Merri-bek Civic Centre, 90 Bell Street Coburg.

If you wish to object, you must explain why you do not support the names(s) in writing.
