  • Kerbside waste collections will return to normal schedules from today, along with public litter bin collection and library services. The Australian Services Union (ASU) has stopped all their industrial action affecting these services, officially notifying Council this week. If your bin has not been collected, please leave it out so we can collect it soon. Learn more.

Contact Economic Development for business support

Business Merri-bek is our team of Economic Development officers who support existing businesses, and seeks to attract new companies, industry investment and jobs to Merri-bek. We work across all Council branches, and have strategic partnerships with key industry, regional and state stakeholders.

Economic Development Action Plan 2024-2027

The Economic Development Action Plan (EDAP) 2024-2027 (PDF 1.4MB) (PDF 4Mb), approved by Council in July 2024, outlines how the Economic Development team will support businesses and the local economy.  The Plan is structured around seven themes, each with defined objectives and priorities.  Specific actions have been identified to guide the work of Council’s Economic Development team.
