Like all municipalities in Victoria, Merri-bek has its own Municipal Emergency Management Plan for managing natural disasters and emergencies at the local level.
Emergency events such as structural fires, flood, storms, extreme heat and pandemic may occur and require a collaborative and coordinated response.
The Municipal Emergency Management Plan developed by the multi agency Municipal Emergency Management Committee sets out arrangements for preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies at the local level.
