  • Industrial action by the Australian Services Union on Tuesday 5 May could affect your bin collections if you are north of Bell Street. If your bins are not collected on Tuesday, please bring them back in until your next scheduled collection. Services south of Bell Street are not affected by industrial action. Strike action by ASU is over

On Tuesday 5 May, the Australian Services Union took strike action for 24 hours, which affected some Council services.  

This strike is now over and those affected services are returning to normal.  

If you live north of Bell Street and your recycling (yellow-lid) bin was not collected on Tuesday, please leave it out and we will collect it as soon as we can. FOGO (light-green lid bins) will be collected on your next scheduled collection.  

Some public litter bins were not emptied yesterday. These bins will be emptied today (Wednesday 6 May). 

It’s regrettable that the Australian Services Union’s industrial action has affected our communities and customers, and we apologise for any disruption.  

Council will continue to bargain in good faith with all unions representing our staff.
