Cr James Conlan has resigned from Merri-bek City Council today, 14 August 2024, effective immediately.

The Minister for Local Government and the Victorian Electoral Commission have been advised.

On 15 August the Victorian Electoral Commission advised that a countback will not be conducted and the extraordinary vacancy will not be filled. This is because the extraordinary vacancy has arisen within three months of the upcoming local council elections.
