We're re-opening the poll to vote for your preferred name for the new park at 14 Frith Street, Brunswick.

Earlier this year we asked you to vote for your preferred name for the new park - thank you to everyone who voted in March and April 2024. 

At the May Council meeting, Council decided to re-open the voting for another 6 weeks to give the community more time to vote. 

Voting has been extended until 5pm Thursday 11 July 2024. Visit Conversations Merri-bek to vote for your preferred name.  One vote per household please.

If you voted the first time, your vote still counts, and you don't need to vote again. 

Council has approved 5 names for the voting poll:

• Fabbrica Park - Fabbrica means factory in Italian. The name celebrates Italian immigrants and is a reminder of the former use of the site for factories
• Fletcher Jones Park - commemorating the former clothing factory that occupied this site from 1975 to 1991
• Foundry Park - recognising the history of the steel foundry once located on this site from the 1920's to the mid-late 1940's
• Franco Cozzo Park - a tribute to the locally famous migrant and Brunswick store
• Yubup Park - Yubup is a Woi-wurrung word for Parakeet.

How to vote

Submit your vote online, via email, or in writing. You must include your name, address and contact details.

List all 5 names and place a number preference next to each one (1-5). 1 being your most preferred, 5 being your least preferred. 

Only 1 vote per household.
