Service changes over the holidays

Over the holiday period some of our services have different operating hours. We have included the changes to our bin collections, Customer Service Centres and Libraries below.
Bin collection changes over the holidays
Christmas Day and New Years Day are the only public holidays where collections do NOT take place.
All bin collections will be moved by 1 day for the next 2 weeks, therefore if your bin collection day is usually:
- Wednesday (Christmas Day and New Years Day) - your bin will be collected on Thursday instead
- Thursday - your bin will be collected on Friday instead
- Friday - your bin will be collected on Saturday instead
Type your address into the waste calendar to see the adjusted dates where applicable for your waste services,
From Monday 6 January your bins will be collected as normal.
Customer Service hours over Christmas
Merri-bek Civic Centre
- Located: 90 Bell Street, Coburg.
This centre is closed from 2:00pm Tuesday 24 December and reopens at 8:30 am Friday 27 December 2024.
This centre will be closed on Wednesday 1 January 2025.
Glenroy Customer Service Centre
- Located: Glenroy Community Hub, at 50 Wheatsheaf Road, Glenroy.
This centre is closed from 2:00pm Tuesday 24 December and reopens at 8:30 am Friday 27 December 2024.
This centre will be closed on Wednesday 1 January 2025.
This centre does not accept cash.
Brunswick Customer Service Centre
- Located at: 233 Sydney Road, Brunswick.
This centre is closed from 2:00pm Tuesday 24 December and reopens at 8:30 am Monday 13 January 2025.

- Library chutes for returned items will be open at all times.
- All Libraries will return to normal hours from Thursday 2 January 2025.
Normal operating hours of Merri-bek Libraries
Essential services and Emergency on-call
- Essential services will continue normal hours of operation without disruption.
- Emergency on-call services will not be affected. Visit our Contact us page.
