Public notice - proposed sale of land of 498-514 Bell Street, Pascoe Vale South.

Merri-bek City Council, in accordance with Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020, gives notice of its intention to sell the Council-owned land at 498-514 Bell Street, Pascoe Vale South.

This site along with 33 Westgate Street were purchased by Council as part of the Park Close to Home Strategy. Council resolved on 8 June 2022 to subdivide 2500sqm for a park and sell the remainder by a public process and use the funds to create more parks in the future.

Construction of the Park at 33 Westgate St has started with an approximate finish date of late December 2025.

It is Council’s intention to sell the land by a public process in accordance with the State Government’s ‘Local Government Best Practice Guidelines for the Sale, Exchange and Transfer of Land’. 

In accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy, we are inviting feedback from the community on the proposal to sell the site.

Any person wishing to provide feedback on the proposal must do using any of the below methods by no later than 5.00 pm on 10 October 2025.

All feedback will be provided to Council at a future meeting at which Council may decide whether or not to proceed with the sale of the site.
