We are excited to announce that applications are now open for Merri-bek Community Connectors 2025-26 program.
Community Connectors empower non-English speaking communities by helping Council share important messages with our diverse community in Merri-bek, while giving us more feedback about their needs.
If you speak a language other than English and have strong connections in your community, we encourage you to apply!
People from all ages, backgrounds and abilities are encouraged to apply.
As a Connector, you will:
• Share Council information with multicultural community members.
• Serve as a bridge between Merri-bek City Council and multicultural communities, helping to strengthen communication.
• Empower your language community to thrive by using Council services and being better informed with Council news and information.
• Provide advice on the most effective ways your community can access information.
• Be connected with likeminded, community-oriented people from all over Merri-bek.
• Attend free capacity building training
• Receive a certificate of appreciation from Merri-bek City Council upon completing your term
To apply online please fill out the Expression of interest (EOI) form.
If you prefer paper application form, you can collect a form from any Merri-bek Library or Council customer service counter and drop it back in the box at the same place.
Applications close on Sunday, 10 August 2025.
