Brunswick Music Festival

Brunswick Music Festival is currently taking expressions of interest for special projects or events for inclusion in our 2026 Program

We want to hear your big ideas. We’re looking for exciting show concepts, venue take-overs, full concert lines ups, special music projects, the creation of new work, album releases, or other ideas that can happen only in a festival context.

Who is eligible?

  • Independent producers, artists, groups and collectives
  • Venues/galleries/studios in Brunswick, Brunswick East and Brunswick West
  • Organisations based or working in Merri-bek
  • Music-related businesses e.g. record labels, record stores, studios etc.
  • Hospitality businessesCollaborations between multiple businesses in these categories

Please note, this is not a call out for individual bands and artists.

What kind of projects and events are we looking for? Applications will be assessed based on the following:

  • Any event or project format including live music, performance, exhibitions, activations, workshops, talks, or other expressive music-based forms.
  • Projects that address the BMF core themes of People, Place, Culture, Music through championing community, inclusivity, and sustainability
  • Projects that foster new and established audiences
  • Projects that are led by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists and/or the Merri-bek priority communities (Women, gender diverse people, people with disability, migrant and refugee communities, and LGBTQIA+ communities)

  • Sydney Road Street Party – Sunday 1 March 2026, 12pm to 6pm
  • Brunswick Music Festival – 1- 8 March 2026

Introducing MzRizk: Our New Programmer for Brunswick Music Festival and Coburg Night Market

We're thrilled to announce that MzRizk (Dan Rizk), a renowned DJ, curator, cultural producer and long-time BMF contributor, is stepping into the role of Programmer for both Brunswick Music Festival and Coburg Night Market.

MzRizk’s relationship with BMF spans multiple years, whether behind the decks as a performer or producing events like last year’s Golden Threads. She’s brought her trademark energy, care and community spirit to every project, making her the perfect choice to lead both programs.

With a global CV that includes Glastonbury, WOMADelaide, SOLE DXB and collaborations with music icons like Chaka Khan and Nile Rodgers, MzRizk’s work is rooted in connection, cultural celebration and sonic storytelling.

Her vision for BMF 2026? A vibrant, inclusive program that reflects the cultural richness of the area while amplifying underrepresented voices.
