What is the Residential Development Monitor?
To better understand housing construction in Merri-bek, we developed a dashboard to track significant residential development from:
- Approval; to
- begin construction; and
- completion.
What kind of residential developments does the RDM track?
- Developments of five or more dwellings.
- Projects that have been approved (issued a planning permit).
Which device (phone, tablet laptop etc) is best for viewing the data?
- Because it has a lot of detail, the best way to experience the dashboard is from a laptop or computer.
- No device? Visit any Merri-bek library, there is free computer access for library members.

The dashboard contains 4 tabs:
- Background:
This provides further information about what is tracked, and where the data comes from. - Map view:
Provides a map enabling you to zoom in and select a site for further information.
The RDM will open on this view. - Table view:
Provides the same data as the map view, in a table view. - More information:
