Mooncakes with Phuong Ngo
The Mid-Autum Festival or Moon Festival is determined by the lunar calendar and is said to be held when the Moon is shining the brightest. This year it will occur in mid-September. In many Asian cultures, mooncakes are shared with family and friends as a symbol of prosperity and reunion. To celebrate the festival Merri-bek invites you to bring your family and friends and join artist Phuong Ngo to paint, sparkle and bling your own mooncake to take home.
The workshop coincides with the ‘Marvellous Mythical Mates: A Menagerie of Dream Pets' exhibition, a dedicated children's show by Vipoo Srivilasa that explores the theme of belonging.
