Wiser Driver Program for over 55's
The Wiser Driver Program is a free, classroom-based driver education and refresher course in Victoria, Australia, designed specifically for older drivers (typically aged 55 to 95).
It runs over 4 consecutive weeks and you must commit to attending all 4 sessions.
Program Details
Delivered over 4 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm – 3:00pm on:
- 10 November,
- 17November,
- 24 November and
- 1 Dec 2026
at Balam Balam Place, Room201, 15 Phoenix Street, Brunswick.
What the Program Covers
• Updated Road Rules: Refresher on current Victorian road rules and how traffic laws have changed over time.
• Modern Car Technology: Understanding new vehicle safety features, mandatory requirements, and used car safety ratings.
• Safe Driving Tips: Managing night driving, fatigue, medication side effects, and keeping your car well-maintained.
• Ageing and Driving: How ageing affects reaction times and vision
• Future Planning: How to plan for a time when you might transition away from driving, including public transport options or occupational therapy driver assessments.
