Exhibition Opening: Pit Yourself Against, Witching Hour (II) and After Epilogue
We are delighted to invite you to the launch of our special evening opening event for our first three exhibitions of the year!
Pit Yourself Against, by Burmese artist Ma Ei, presents new video and photographic self-portraits that reflect on human fragility, resilience, and the search for peace amid turmoil.
Witching Hour (II) by Heidi Holmes explores insomnia and menopause, drawing on the body’s physical experiences to create an installation that transforms the gallery into a luminous, dreamlike, and restless environment.
After Epilogue by Judy Kong is an atmospheric installation combining video, sound, and sculpture that invites reflection on the experience of cinema and the lasting impressions after a film ends.
Opening performance: A free participatory performance by exhibiting artist Ma Ei will be held during the exhibition launch on. In Cut the Roots Off, visitors are invited to break the roots off a mound of bean sprouts, symbolising the collective removal of harmful systems and outdated structures, and inviting reflection on social change and shared responsibility.
