Artist Talk: After Epilogue

Join us for a live music performance and artist talk presented as part of Judy Kong’s exhibition After Epilogue, an atmospheric installation that explores cinema as a space for reflection, memory and transformation.

The event will begin with a talk by Judy, who will share insights into the ideas and processes behind the exhibition.

Following the talk, art-folk duo Spillway (Pug and Camila) will perform a live, improvised acoustic set with guitar and viola in the gallery. Responding to the installation in real time, the musicians will create a reflective soundscape inspired by the idea of the ‘imagination of the underground’, echoing the artist’s reimagining of cinema as an underground sanctuary for voice and memory.

WHEN: Saturday 18 April, 2pm - 4pm
VENUE: Counihan Gallery, 233 Sydney Rd, Brunswick

Free. Bookings required.

Artist bios

Judy Kong
Judy Kongis a Hong Kong-born artist working primarily with time-based media and installation to explore the complexity of human emotion, cultural memory, and the experience of displacement. Spillway
Spillway is an artfolk punk duo based out of Naarm consisting of Alex Pug Williams on vocals and guitar and Camilla Eustance on vocals and viola.
