2pm, Saturday 21 October
Coburg Library
Presented by the Coburg Historical Society
The era of union politics which began with the establishment of the Victorian Teachers Union resulted in a more industrialised union. The High Schools Branch played a leading role in turning what had been a conservative, compliant union into a militant industrial organisation. Dr Cheryl Griffin FRHSV, will discuss this ground-breaking era in teacher politics with a focus on its connection to Coburg High School.
