Sydney Road Brunswick History Tours

Following the sell-out success of Sydney Road Brunswick’s Historical Walking Tours from 2022, we are pleased to announce that they will be again delivered in 2023, broken down into four sections of Sydney Road Brunswick!

Tours will be taking place on the 25th March, 2nd April and 15th April, starting at 11am and ending around 12-12.30pm. Tickets limited and selling fast.

Teaming up with the Brunswick Community History Group, and led by their local experts, you’ll take a leisurely and incredibly insightful walk along Sydney Road Brunswick.

This first tour for 2023 focuses on the buildings between Brunswick Road and Glenlyon Road, including:

• Cable Tram Engine House (Black Street)
• Barkly Square (90-106 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• Brunswick Hotel (140 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• McDougall’s Store (123 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• Phoenix Hotel (132 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• Miss R.E. Yon (159 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• Cornish Arms Hotel (163 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• Uniting (formerly Presbyterian) Church (212 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• Brunswick Club (former Lyric Theatre) (203 Sydney Road Brunswick)
• Brunswick Town Hall (233 Sydney Road Brunswick)

At the conclusion of the tour, attendees will enjoy a complimentary hot drink and the opportunity to have a casual chat about the sights and stories of Sydney Road Brunswick. Walking tours cost $15 (plus 50c ticket fee) each, and run for approximately 1.5 hours. The footpaths are a little uneven at times, but overall the tour and pace is a slow stroll.
