Sydney Road Brunswick History Tours: Hotels
Our next series of History Tours are coming up on Saturday 11 May, Saturday 25 May and Saturday 1 June, 2024. Tickets live now!
Sydney Road Brunswick invites you to join in our historical walking tour, which will focus on the hotels of Brunswick, with stops at 5 iconic locations for a deep dive into their illustrious pasts, right up to their present day.
Teaming up with the Brunswick Community History Group, and led by their local experts, attendees will take a leisurely and incredibly insightful walk from 11am to 12.30pm, within the Sydney Road Brunswick precinct, stepping back in time to step into some iconic venues.
Stops on the hotel themed tour series include:
*Duke of Edinburgh Hotel
*Retreat Hotel
*The Cornish Arms
*Phoenix Hotel (now Stay Gold)
*Sarah Sands Hotel (now The Wild Geese)
At the final stop of the tour, attendees will enjoy a Guinness tasting at The Wild Geese, and the opportunity to have a casual chat about the sights and stories of Sydney Road Brunswick.
Walking tours cost $15 (plus 50c ticket fee) each, and will run for approximately 1.5 hours, commencing at 11am and ending around 12.30pm.

*Printed booklet with images and information on each of the stops
*Sydney Road Brunswick tote bag with collateral
*Walking tour and knowledge exchange
*Guinness tasting at The Wild Geese at end of the tour

Please note that this series of the historical walking tours will be from the footpaths of Sydney Road Brunswick and inside some of the stops listed above. Some of these locations will include flights of stairs. The walk itself will be a slow stroll, for roughly 1km with stops along the way, at the above locations.
