Izzy Faith V has always been drawn to female villains for precisely the reasons they're vilified - they're independent, sexually autonomous, and defy the roles traditionally delegated to women - namely 'the virgin', 'the housewife', or 'the mother'. Historically, society's discomfort with female figures who deviated from these norms gave rise to mythical beings like the succubus, the siren, and the banshee - creatures that defied the expectations of submission, modesty, and motherhood, embodying a darker yet deeply feminine force. In the age of The Internet, these narratives find new life. Today, similar fears manifest as memes: the disagreeable older woman becomes 'The Karen', ambitious, childless women put the 'Girl' in 'Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girl Boss', and any woman garnering sexual attention online can expect to be labelled a 'THOT', a 'Baddie', or a 'Pick Me'.

This continuation of myth-making around demonised women captivates V, especially in its modern absurdity, showcasing how the internet has become a new battleground for these age-old narratives. Demonised is a playful probe into female defiance, merging historical monsters with contemporary societal stereotypes to revel in the enduring allure of 'The Bad Girl'. Izzy Faith V is a visual artist, embracing the label of 'pop surrealist'. Her practice is shaped by her experiences living in cities including Tokyo, Berlin, Beijing, and Mexico City.

Merging mythologies, internet culture, golden-era anim and rave scenes to create 'digital esoterica’, works that feature hedonistic characters inhabiting ‘protopian' virtual realms. Often filled with retro-futuristic imagery, her works oscillate between a commentary on today's tech-induced nihilism and nostalgia for the techno-optimism of the 1990s
