In early 2021, we held 10 pop ups across Merri-bek. We spoke to people throughout the municipality. We also held online sessions to collect stories and information.

We targeted people from our diverse communities and talked to our partners and stakeholders.

Then we selected our community panel to write our community vision.

When the panel met for the first time, they learnt about the process of developing a community vision.

They learned what the community wanted to see based on the conversations he had earlier in the year.

They also discovered the opportunities and challenges Merri-bek faces.

The panel thought about what the future of Merri-bek could look like in 2031. Then they started drafting our community vision.

Finally, the panel gave the community vision document to our Mayor and Councillors.
