Our Jobs Victoria Advocates have a wealth of experience in lots of areas. They’re passionate about helping people find work. Meet the team:

  • Skyla is a qualified career counsellor who loves helping people find fulfilling careers. Her background is in education, having taught in both high school and primary school. Skyla has also taught international students at university and worked in Vocational Education. Skyla loves learning something new from every person she meets.

  • Tesfu holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Community Development and a Diploma of Legal Services.  For 16 years, Tesfu ran his own business as a driving instructor. Tesfu has worked in the Tigray community as a chairperson for the Ethiopian and Eritrean Catholic Association in Melbourne. Tesfu can speak 6 languages: English, Arabic, Amharic, Tigrigna, Afar, Saho.

  • Ebrima is a qualified social worker with several years of experience working in not-for-profit organisations and local government. He is committed to finding the best outcome for those in the community who are looking for work.

  • Lisa Forbes is a proud Wiradjuri woman. Lisa has experience producing short film documentaries for NITV and SBS2, with Gunditjmara mob from Warrnambool. She also works with the five clans of the Gunaikurnai people in East Gippsland. Previously, Lisa ran cultural competency sessions for clinical health students at Swinburne University.
