My Still Life! Drawing workshop with Brady Michaels
Join My Pop Life artist Brady Michaels for a still life workshop using personal artefacts to tell stories through drawing with a range of materials, with a late 1980s soundtrack to inspire you!
Bring along your own items of personal significance or choose an object from Brady’s archive of late 1980s ephemera displayed as part of the My Pop Life exhibition. From clothing to cassettes and Willy the koala, there’s no shortage of objects to choose from if you don’t have your own. No drawing experience is required, just a willingness to have a go and get creative.
This workshop is for queer people and their allies. As a member of a marginalised group, asserting agency as narrator allows us to reclaim our stories and shed some light on truths that often exist in the shadows of history. Every object tells a story, especially ones that have a strong connection to our personal lives. Participants will have the opportunity to have their artwork displayed as part of the My Pop Life exhibition.
Free, bookings required.
