International Day of People with Disability is celebrated each year to challenge the way we think about disability and help grow a more inclusive Australia. In recognition of the day and all people with visible and invisible disabilities, join us for a weeklong celebration of events across Merri-bek.
- Auslan Storytime
This special storytime session we will have an Auslan interpreter who will translate stories and rhymes. There will also be craft and something we all can't resist ...bubbles. Everyone is welcome.

This week’s storytime theme challenges us to think about different ways we can communicate and be inclusive. Storytellers will utilise sensory aids and communication boards throughout the session. Everyone will then be encouraged to participate in a collaborative mindful art project.

Come along to our storytime at Fawkner Library as we welcome Vision Australia. Meet a Seeing Eye dog and learn all about the valuable work they do, as well as the important role of braille.

We invite people with a disability to visit any of our Active Merri-bek Aquatic and Leisure Centres participate in our wide variety of health and wellness services including group fitness, aqua exercise classes, gym and pool.
Our friendly staff will be available to offer guidance and answer any questions you have.
