Wurundjeri Week with Mandy Nicholson

How can language strengthen individuals and communities?

Come and listen and learn from Mandy Nicholson is a Wurundjeri-willam Traditional Custodian of Melbourne and surrounds. Mandy is an artist, cultural mentor, PhD candidate, Woi-wurrung language specialist, singer and creator of Djirri Djirri dance group.

Wurundjeri Week is a time to recognise, remember and celebrate the Traditional Owners of this land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people. It coincides with the death of William Barrak, the last broadly recognised Ngurungaeta (leader) of the Wurundjeri people, who died on 15 August 1903.
