About our guest speakers 

Kerry Wilson 

Kerry is a public sector and community leader focused on creating environments that foster access, equity, sustainability, and participation for almost 30 years. Key areas include physical activity and gender equality, driving systemic change in the public sector and representation in public place commemoration.  

Kerry is a freelance consultant, board director and volunteer. She is a founding member of Women in Gippsland, cofounder and now project lead for the Put Her Name On It Campaign and cofounder of the Advertising (in)Equality project. 

Prof. Bob Pease 

Bob is Adjunct Professor in Social Sciences at the University of Tasmania and Honorary Professor in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Deakin University. He has been involved in profeminist politics with men for many years, was a founding member of Men Against Sexual Assault in Melbourne and continues to be involved in community education and campaigns against men’s violence against women. He has published extensively on masculinity politics and critical social work practice. 

His presentation on engaging men in prevention of violence against women will outline arguments for involving men and what principles should inform their involvement, further the best strategies for engagement and how to address resistance to change. 

In 2022, Respect Victoria and Safe and Equal are partnering to deliver and support local community engagement with the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence state-wide campaign. Merri-bek City Council has been funded under Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism grassroots initiative.
