When We Were Younger - IDPWD film screening

A film like no other - personal, heartfelt, inclusive, and utterly memorable.

In 2020 two sisters, inspired by a love of op shops and vintage clothing, imagined what life had been like for two other sisters - their Grandmother and Grand-Aunty in their youth.

They began writing a script for a short film to pay tribute to these special women in their lives.

Starring four first time actors, who demonstrate and model the abilities of people with a disability, the film is truly diverse.

It’s cast features a First Nation's person, all abilities and LGBTIQA+ communities. Join us for a screening of this film followed by a panel discussion with the participants hosted as part of Merri-bek City Council’s celebrations for International Day of People with a Disability.

Attendees are invited to dress in their favourite vintage clothing.

This film screening will include audio descriptions, closed captions and accommodations for those who prefer a low sensory environment.

Registrations essential. Visit our EventBrite page to register.
