Make a Face!
Create a human, animal or monster face which can be hung on a wall or ready for halloween!
Under the guidance of our experienced tutor, children will be guided through basic handbuilding techniques to add their own features on a clay slab.
Underglaze colours will be provided to decorate the finished pieces which will be clear glazed. A hole will be cut in the top of the mask so it can be hung after firing. Parents are welcome to stay during activities if they purchase an additional ticket, or can enjoy a coffee or tea on Lygon Street a short stroll away.
Ella Bendrups is a ceramic artist who creates innate forms refined for a modern context. Ella’s practice explores ancient clay and stone artefacts and their ability to transcend the times and cultures in which they were created. She embraces the expressive nature of hand building, pinching, coiling and carving clay to highlight the maker’s touch.
