Grow Your Own Garden Flower

Children will learn how to build their own 3D flower using basic handbuilding techniques and pressing handmade petals and additional elements into a bowl mould.

Underglaze colours will be provided to decorate the finished pieces which will be clear glazed. Parents are welcome to stay during activities if they purchase an additional ticket, or can enjoy a coffee or tea on Lygon Street a short stroll away.

Ella Bendrups is a ceramic artist who creates innate forms refined for a modern context. Ella’s practice explores ancient clay and stone artefacts and their ability to transcend the times and cultures in which they were created. She embraces the expressive nature of hand building, pinching, coiling and carving clay to highlight the maker’s touch.
