Foster Care Information Session (online)
Foster carers provide an incredible community service by providing temporary care in safe and nurturing homes for children and young people not able to live safely in their own homes.
Being able to support a child to remain in their local community and to continue in their same school and social network is a really important consideration when looking to place children and young people into out of home care and for that reason, the best foster care home is one already in a child’s community.
The need for community based carers in Merri-bek is great and we welcome anyone interested in exploring whether foster care is a good fit for them and their household.
We run monthly information sessions for members of the community who might be interested in exploring foster care. Information sessions are run online and are free to attend but do require registration.
