You'll learn the techniques and patterns on a number of authentic instruments and cover the rhythms of Brazil including samba and samba reggae.
Musical roots of Brazil – as well as elements of funk and hip-hop – are dropped into our mix to produce intricate rhythms and melodies that are exciting to hear, watch – and play!
Everyone is welcome to attend, including beginners. We'll have some regular members on hand to teach you as we go. Anyone can join regardless of experience – instruments are provided. Hand-outs are also available for both readers and non readers of music.
Every Thursday night, 7 pm - 9 pm. St Ambrose Hall, 3 Dawson Street, Brunswick First class is FREE!
$20 or $15 concession per class. Cash and EFTPOS accepted.
Please RSVP via our Facebook event, so we know how many drums to bring. BYO ear plugs, snacks and drinks too. 🙂
We may need to cancel a class or move to another venue – we will post any announcements on our Facebook page.
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin nation as the rightful custodians of the land where this event takes place, and that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging.
