IPHA Open Day is a great opportunity to view some completed passive house projects, meet the owners, builders and design team!
Moreland's brand new Glenroy Community Hub is Australia's first Passive House Certified public Building.
At the heart of the Hub is the new contemporary Glenroy Library, alongside the Glenroy Memorial Kindergarten, maternal child health, community health providers, neighbourhood learning and childcare services.
The co-location of these vital community services brings together diverse groups of people and encourages inter-generational connections.
As the first community hub in Australia to achieve Passive House certification, Glenroy Community Hub demonstrates the City of Merri-bek's commitment to world-leading, sustainable design.
Glenroy Community Hub strikes a balance between achieving ambitious sustainability goals, commercial building requirements and high quality architectural design intent.
Along with its Passive House certification, the Hub is also designed to attain Living Building Challenge Petal certification and zero energy certification (certification expected late 2022).
There’ll be tours of the Hub, led by architects from DesignInc who were responsible for the building’s sustainable design elements.
This event is free to anyone who would like to attend, registration is required.
